Villa and location
Our villa was built in 2005 and is right on the outskirts of Dalyan, so is fairly quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains from the garden, pools and terrace, however, it is just a short 10 minute stroll into town and the river. A dolmus can be stopped from just down the lane if you would prefer transport, however. There is a small shop just a couple of minutes walk down the lane for fresh bread, and those last minute items, or a couple of larger supermarkets within 5 -10 minutes walk. A car is not essential though we can help you arrange one if you would like.
Child friendly, 2 cots, 1 highchair & paddling pool. There is a lockable gate across the terrace to stop little ones getting down to the pool unsupervised.
Everything is provided for your comfort in the villa, the kitchen is fully fitted with all the mod cons you would expect at home, including that all important dishwasher!
Safety is important to us - smoke alarms in all rooms, security shutters on all doors & windows & a safe are provided.
The main lounge/diner is light and airy and has sliding patio doors out onto a large covered terrace which is shaded for most of the day and has table and chairs for dining al fresco, or is a restful place to just sit, sip a drink and view the scenery. At night there is underwater lighting in the pool + garden lights. We have a large brick built Turkish style BBQ in the garden.
The pool area is paved (not slippery marble), and is provided with 6 comfortable cushioned sunbeds. Beach towels are provided.
Dalyan
Dalyan is a beautiful riverside village within a conservation area and nature reserve. Nearby Iztuzu beach is the home of the loggerhead turtle (caretta-caretta), and can be reached either by the popular river route or by a short dolmus (bus) ride. The whole region is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The pretty marina area provides both a start point for the various boat trips, and a romantic location for al fresco dining. The floodlit rock tombs and meandering river provide a unique backdrop as you enjoy the local delicacies.
Film buffs may be interested to know that this is where the African Queen was actually filmed!
There are numerous local attractions, and activities, including the mud baths, boat trips/hire, Iztuzu beach, Saklikent Gorge, Kayakoy deserted village, Caunos ancient ruins, diving, snorkelling, bird watching, turtle watching, paragliding, white water rafting, microlight flights and spectacular scenery everywhere. There is a market in Dalyan every Saturday, other local market days are: Monday Koycegiz, Tuesday Fethiye.
Local travel is via the dolmus (local bus) or by taxi, both fairly cheap and reliable. (From Villa Cennet you can easily walk into town in 10 minutes). Local car rental is fairly cheap and bicycles can also be rented.
Dalyan is a pretty riverside village with plenty of shops, restaurants and bars to entertain you at night without being too commercialised. The main street is pedestrianised in the evenings making it safe to stroll up & down without worrying about cars.
